Milestone Product Lifecycle

Milestone products have a lifecycle with several stages, depending on their availability and support. For more information on the details of each stage and how it applies to the different products, please see below product lifecycle sections on:

Lifecycle for XProtect – active product versions

Milestone’s Video Management Software products change status from General Availability to Limited Availability three months after a similar or substituting product has been released. In special cases where a newer version has not been released, Limited Availability will start one year from the General Availability date. Milestone guarantees a minimal availability period of four years for all its VMS products, in which the product becomes Discontinued after three years from its General Availability date and Terminated after four years. Milestone reserves the right to prolong the lifespan of its products at its sole discretion.

¹ Expansion sale covers purchase of additional device licenses, Milestone Interconnect™ camera or other types of connection licenses to an existing system (base license)

Lifecycle for XProtect - retiring versions

The table below displays the different phases that a given product will follow once it is being retired and the last version of the product has been released.

¹ Expansion sale covers purchase of additional device licenses, Milestone Interconnect™ camera or other types of connection licenses to an existing system
² License activation is available for 10 years after General availability for that specific version
³ Expiration date can not exceed date of termination
⁴ Full price of three years of Care Plus or full price of one year Care Premium, despite the coverage period may be shorter due to the date of termination

Husky IVO Series

¹ Expansion sale covers purchase of additional XProtect VMS device licenses and is governed by the lifecycle of the used XProtect VMS product.
² Milestone provides a software recovery image, giving customers the ability with additional manual upgrades to return to the equivalent state prior to the malfunction.
³ Milestone Care Plus coverage can only be purchased for the used XProtect VMS product.
⁴ Hotfixes and other corrective measures concerning the XProtect VMS fixes are governed by the lifecycle of the used XProtect VMS product.
⁵ Husky IVO products are covered by Milestone Limited Hardware Warranty, with Onsite Support Service and authorized for repair by Milestone Technical Support.
