Milestone Systems Hires New Technical Support Engineers for Latin America

Providing agile technical service in Spanish is the focus of this expansion

Mexico City – October 1, 2018
. Milestone Systems, the leading open platform company in networked video management software (VMS), hired 2 new engineers to its technical support staff. The announcement came after the recent company event called MPOP México 2018, the first official reunion of its Latin American partners.

The Mexican engineers, Kevin Cayetano and Elias Berthely, joined the Milestone technical support team in July as level 2 engineers, responsible for analyzing, diagnosing and detecting possible problems in customer systems.

"All of Milestone's objectives point to growth in the region, and I believe that I have the capacity to help achieve that goal as I continue to learn and grow in my profession," says Cayetano, who has more than 7 years of experience in customer service for the tech industry, at companies such as General Electric and other local firms.

Berthely has almost a decade of experience, mainly as an infrastructure consultant at Microsoft. "Working for Milestone is a great opportunity to grow professionally in the security industry, thanks to the type of solutions offered by the company,” says Berthely.

Milestone, committed to Latin America

According to Lina Alfaro, Latin America Technical Support Manager at Milestone Systems, the arrival of the experts is just one part of the company’s total strategy to ensure that they are offering the best possible service to their clients and partners in Latin America.

"It is essential to provide technical service in Spanish. In the last decade alone, the number of projects in the region has increased, which is why we opened an office in Mexico City, that has spurred growth in every area," Alfaro says.

Milestone offers a free hotline for its clients in Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Chile, Peru and Mexico. The company also provides a chat service on its official website.

"The first line of support for our customers will always be our commercial alliances, so we will continue to provide training programs and certifications for them. But we also want to have our engineers on hand for special situations or to offer service for premium products that end users acquire directly. Our main goal is to offer additional benefits to anyone with a Milestone ID: customers, partners, resellers, distributors or integrators," concluded Alfaro.

Given the company’s commitment of offering faster service and communication in the native language of their customers, the technical support team emphasizes that the goal for 2019 is to have an exclusive team of backline, or level 3, engineers for Latin America. They will work directly with the developers on projects that need to be scaled up to meet their objectives, a function that until now has been fulfilled by English-speaking experts.
