Milestone Systems and Middleware Associates announce collaboration

XProtect integrated with Proviso-IP Facility Security Management software.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, 22 February 2006

Milestone Systems and Middleware Associates announced today the integration of Milestone XProtect Enterprise with Proviso-IP™ Facility Security Management Software from Middleware Associates. The integration will give users access to advanced network video recording (NVR) capabilities through the Proviso-IP™ web client user interface.

The interoperability of Middleware Associates’ Proviso-IP edge reader access control system and Milestone’s XProtect Enterprise software will provide users with alarm-event based video surveillance, which in most cases completely eliminates the need to monitor live video.

"Partnering with Milestone was an obvious choice because of their depth and breadth of IP camera products as well as their global market leadership and penetration. This collaboration will allow users for the first time ever to have a cost effective, event-based access control and video surveillance system that is made up of native IP security appliances that reside right on the edge of the network. This configuration combined with the Proviso-IP™ open source software platform, offers simplified installation, extremely effective security and enterprise interoperability," said Patrick Conners, CEO of Middleware Associates, based out of Florida.

"Such integrated solutions significantly ramp up the added value for customers, who gain greatly increased returns on their security investments," adds Eric Fullerton, President of Milestone Systems Inc., based out of Oregon.

Customers of the integrated system will benefit from the extensive IP video capabilities of XProtect and the Proviso-IP web services architecture that automates the recurring system administration tasks of enterprise facility security. End-users can employ both the Milestone Windows-based client software and Proviso-IP web clients as their needs dictate.

Middleware Associates plans the general release of the integrated XProtect software solution following their release of Proviso-IP version 1.0, which is entering beta sites in March and April.
