The battle between AI and IA

“It seems as though a philosophical battle between IA and AI is taking place right now,” says Hans Jørgen, referring to Intelligence Augmentation on one hand and Artificial Intelligence on the other. Hans Jørgen refers to AI as a technology that imitates and replaces human cognitive functions, whereas IA supplements and supports human analysis, planning and decision-making. According to Hans Jørgen, both technologies are about to change the world as we know it. 

“I think the need for taxi drivers, for instance, will change. The question is whether AI will take over, where we don’t have human taxi drivers at all, or whether IA will; where a taxi driver controls numerous vehicles remotely with the help of AR glasses,” says Hans Jørgen.
