According to an analysis from the Danish Business Authority, Denmark will lack 19,000 IT specialists by 2030. In 2016, 61% of Danish companies struggled to find qualified IT specialists, an increase of 42% compared to 2014 (Statistics Denmark).
IT and cyber security seem to be the top priority within the IT industry, however, the lack of qualified staff is also high on the agenda; it concerns everybody. If you can’t get the right competencies, you won’t be able to deliver your products, and that will have a negative effect on the bottom line,” says Lars. Thinggard.
Currently, Milestone Systems has 75 vacant positions, including ‘Experienced Senior Software Develops for R&D’ and ‘Junior Software Engineer’, and a number of these positions have been vacant for quite some time now. Even though Milestone Systems is also looking for new colleagues from abroad, Lars Thinggard establishes that Milestone Systems’s headquarters will remain in Denmark.
“Milestone Systems’ open management style is quite unique. Many of our colleagues are not originally from Denmark but have chosen to stay here permanently. Our key selling point when attracting new colleagues from abroad are our open and dynamic company culture and a high level of commitment. We believe this makes a difference,” says Lars Thinggaard.
