Steve Hunt reports in Nov. issue of Security magazine

Milestone Systems showed me elegant software for managing video.

The November 2006 issue of Security magazine (Solutions for Enterprise Security Leaders) has a cover story called 'Managing at the Speed of Tech - Innovations that changed or will change how security gets done'. The Business Matters column inside is written by Steve Hunt, CPP, CISSP and Founder of 4A International and CEO of Hunt Security Solutions. This month's column by the industry guru is titled "Innovation Sets The Tone" with a highlighted quote of "It's the software."

Here are two quotes from this column:

"The bright modern command center is far less expensive to run than the older, dustier version. That's because effective use of intelligent video, excellent software and automated incident response procedures make detecting and responding to events faster and easier for the security professionals manning desks and making rounds. When you have more information and respond faster and miss fewer problems, your security operation is saving loads of money caused by loss, injury, fraud or security violations."

He then describes an interesting visit to the Microsoft Global Security Operations Center, followed by his report on a trip to the ASIS security trade show held in San Diego in September:

"I explored the world of security software looking for the most innovative products... Milestone Systems showed me elegant software for managing video from intelligent sources such as Axis cameras or Verint encoders."
