Stretch Inc. to Provide Milestone Solution for Video Surveillance Migrations

Stretch PCIe DVR Add-in Cards and XProtect® Video Management Software Combine to Bring True Hybrid Functionality to IP Surveillance

SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 10, 2012 – Stretch Inc., the pioneer and leader in software configurable processors announced today that Milestone Systems, a leading provider of open platform IP video management software (VMS), has completed integration of its XProtect® VMS platform with Stretch VRC7000 Series PCIe DVR add-in cards.

The partnership combines the unprecedented performance of Stretch VRC7000 add-in cards with Milestone’s easy-to-use XProtect VMS to produce a market-leading hybrid NVR platform.  Operators can now use the intuitive control capabilities provided by Milestone software to manage video from myriad IP cameras and digital sources, as well as locally captured analog video feeds from Stretch DVR add-in cards.

"As the surveillance industry embraces digital technology, combining Milestone XProtect VMS with the Stretch portfolio gives operators the ability to migrate from analog to the flexibility afforded by IP installations," said Christian Bohn, VP Product Management and Marketing at Milestone Systems. "The benefits of open platform video management software are increasingly embraced, but the need to support legacy systems remains. In the Stretch collaboration we have found a DVR solution that can capture high quality analog streams and make them available to be managed with our easy-to-use solutions. This will aid migration of the technology, allowing analog video feed to be managed with the same power as digital feed."

The support of Stretch products by the Milestone XProtect software gives installers and operators the freedom to select the required mix of analog and digital cameras. The diversity of the Stretch portfolio means that video ranging from NTSC/PAL to the crystal clear images of HD CCTV can be captured and used within a single system. This delivers true hybrid NVR capability to the world-leading Milestone open platform.

Mark Oliver, Stretch director of product marketing, said, "Milestone is a leader in the VMS software market and we are delighted that they have embraced the benefits that Stretch DVR cards bring to their platform.  By combining the unprecedented performance of Stretch VRC7000 add-in cards with Milestone's video management, integrators can deliver a versatile hybrid NVR solution without the expense of a complete system retrofit. This collaboration removes barriers often associated with the migration from analog to digital video and is a great step forward for the surveillance industry."
