Promise Technology shows complete range of storage solutions at IFSEC

April 2010 – Storage specialist Promise Technology will be showcasing their huge range of CCTV data storage solutions at IFSEC next month.  Promise will be showcasing products handling iSCSI interfaces, the world’s most widely used technology for CCTV applications, as well as one of their fully redundant Fibre Channel solutions offering users a highly flexible IT structure, particularly adaptable for remote monitoring.

Promise offers plenty of capacity.  The SmartStor NS4600 network attached storage solution provides the ultimate storage component that makes it easy to connect IP devices like cameras, with 8TB capacity in a 4-bay desktop device. Promise will be displaying a working demo of an iSCSI-based video surveillance application to show the volume of capacity and the ease of use.

For larger installations, the company is also displaying another option. Promise’s flexible and scalable VessRAID storage systems and VessJBOD storage extensions offer customers up to 160TB capacity, large enough for most CCTV installations.  These offer mid-range enterprises a rack based IT structure.  The company will be demonstrating multiple video streams coming from a large number of attached IP cameras.  This high workload will be sent via four trunked GbE interfaces and the iSCSI interface to the Promise storage systems.  Utilising their partnership with SONY, Promise will demonstrate the VessRAID set-up with Sony NSR and cameras.

For even more powerful performance, Promise Technology will be showing the VTrak E-Class series and VTrak JBODs for expansion offering full redundancy, as a Fibre Channel set-up, although Promise’ VTrak and other products are also available as SAS systems.  Their use within large-scale video surveillance installations, where high availability and high reliability are key factors, will also be demonstrated on Promise’s booth.
