San Diego, CA – October 9th, 2008 – GigaKOM announced today the deployment of a 50-camera IP video surveillance network for the historic Belmont Park. The system is comprised of a combination of exterior and interior AXIS Network Cameras and Milestone Video Surveillance Software.

Belmont Park is a popular entertainment attraction located in Mission Beach, CA, featuring the historic Giant Dipper roller coaster and Plunge swimming pool, amusement rides, artificial wave attractions, live music, multiple food outlets, retail shops and a beach-style atmosphere. The high volumes of foot traffic and many attractions in the park required a sophisticated surveillance system to ensure public safety and security, simultaneously and efficiently serving multiple departmental uses.

GigaKOM, a full service information technology provider, worked with the Belmont Park team to deploy an IP Video Surveillance solution to meet those surveillance needs.

"Because of the open, 'surf culture' layout of the park, there is a flurry of activity in many different areas. We knew we needed a system to promote guest and employee safety, reduce shrinkage, and monitor traffic flow. GigaKOM assisted us in selecting an IP based system that provides the functionality we need for a variety of departments and fit our budget" said Don Watson, COO of Wave House Global, managers of the park. "The scalability of the IP based platform is also attractive, as that the park layout is very dynamic and ever-changing"

Deploying Axis 211 and 209 POE network cameras, Milestone Systems XProtect Video Surveillance Software and a combination of fiber optic and wireless bridging interconnects; GigaKOM designed the infrastructure to provide high quality imagery and accessibility, with no bandwidth impact to the existing LAN.

"Belmont Park had a need to survey a wide range of areas, in a challenging architectural layout. Camera selection, placement and LAN performance were crucial factors." said Andrej Komatina, CEO of GigaKOM. "Our ability to deliver optimal performance demonstrates our commitment to providing solutions that work well and meet the most challenging needs."
