Dell EMC R740XD as a Dedicated Milestone Server - The R740 XD is a high Density 2U rack server that also supports GPU for increased performance.
The Dell EMC PowerEdge R740XD is an ideal choice to leverage as a dedicated Milestone video management software (VMS) server in the surveillance industry. It is a highly scalable platform, with up to 18 3.5” hard drives, and has full support for NVIDIA GPU hardware acceleration. The tests include various scalable configurations across disk types, populated CPUs, the introduction of GPU, and how it scales. This is is a Reference Architecture, showing the performance comparison across these configurations, which is key to making the right decision on designing the ideal solution, whether it a high capacity disk configuration, or a high performance processing unit.

- The 2U platform is expandable up to 216 TB of local storage (18 x 3.5" SATA or SAS 12TB disks), in addition to a Boot optimized storage adapter.
