Find Supported Devices for Milestone XProtect® VMS
The Milestone Supported Device List (SDL) provides an overview of devices that have been tested for compatibility by their manufacturers with specific versions of XProtect VMS. These include, but are not limited to, IP cameras, encoders, video recorders, and other IP-based devices.
Currently, more than 16,500 devices are listed on the Supported Device List, and this number is continuously updated as new devices and firmware versions are evaluated.
Milestone Supported Device List and Licensing
The Milestone Supported Device List provides information on the number of required device licenses for IP devices connected to and enabled in XProtect. Please refer to the list to determine the applicable licensing requirements for your use of XProtect with IP devices. For further information regarding licensing requirements, please refer to the Milestone EULA.
In general, one device license is required per device when used with the specified driver. If a device is connected using a universal driver or is not listed, licensing is applied per enabled video channel.
Milestone recommends using the driver specified for a given supported IP device on the Supported Device List. Specific IP device variants may not appear on the Supported Device List but may be treated as included where an equivalent base model is listed.

The Legacy Device Pack is no longer supported; and its use is subject to your own risk. Milestone recommends using the latest available Device Packs, which are available here.
Milestone does not warrant and shall have no liability for any third-party devices, including, without limitation, devices provided by Developer Community members, Technology Partners, or other third parties, or for the functionality or performance of such devices. Milestone only reviews the manufacturers’ documentation for compatibility with the applicable Milestone XProtect VMS version used in testing, as well as the listed firmware version of the relevant device. The use of Milestone drivers downloaded with the Milestone XProtect® Device Pack shall be governed by the applicable Milestone EULA. Milestone does not warrant and shall have no liability for any non-Milestone drivers. Your use of any non-Milestone drivers shall be subject to the applicable license terms provided by the relevant Developer Community member, Technology Partner, or other third-party licensor.
New supported devices release process
From January 2024, new devices and firmware will be added continuously to the supported devices list. This will reduce the timeline for adding new devices/firmware from around two months to two days.
