Each BriefCam edition provides a different level of analytics functionality. Pricing starts with a base license that includes a set number of camera streams and concurrent users. For organizations using file-based investigations, licensing is based on concurrent users rather than camera streams.

Maintenance provides access to software updates, upgrades, enhancements, and second-level support to help keep your system current over time. Maintenance is required for the first year and can then be renewed with up to 5-year agreements based on your organization's needs.

What BriefCam editions are available?

BriefCam offers four product license variations:

Investigator – File-based deployment with Review capabilities. Available for single-user or multi-user environments.
Protect – File and VMS-based deployment with Review, Respond and Research. Popular with law enforcement agencies.
Insights – VMS-based deployment with Review, Respond and Research. Popular for security teams with real-time operational needs.
Rapid Review – VMS-based deployment with Review. Popular for investigation-focused deployments.

What's included with Maintenance?

An active Maintenance contract includes upgrades for new versions, releases/changes/updates, service packs, software patches and bug fixes.

First-level support, including documentation, knowledge base articles and guides, is provided by your reseller's trained support personnel, while second-level support is provided by BriefCam through an online knowledge base, email, telephone and ticketing platform.

Maintenance also includes 100% trade-in credit when upgrading to a more advanced eligible BriefCam product.

How can I scale my BriefCam deployment?

BriefCam offers expansion licenses that allow organizations to increase the number of concurrent users, BriefCam Research users, camera channels and BriefCam Respond real-time camera channels as deployment requirements change. A Milestone partner can help determine the expansion licenses required to support your environment.

How are multi-sensor cameras licensed?

BriefCam is licensed on a per-sensor basis. For example, a camera with four sensors requires four camera licenses.

How do I determine the hardware requirements for my deployment?

Hardware requirements vary depending on your deployment and operational requirements. As part of the purchasing process, your Milestone partner can work with Milestone Solution Engineering to complete a sizing assessment and recommend the appropriate hardware for your environment.
