The ORBNET Streaming Engine is a robust method of enabling outbound video from Milestone Advanced versions to then be used by other services like analytics engines or monitoring stations. The Service supports h264, h265 & MJPEG streams and can do timelapses, RTSP, RTMP broacasting and HLS.

The ORBNET Streaming Engine - The ORBNET Streaming Engine enables outbound streaming of video from Milestone Advanced versions
With the Streaming Engine, you can send audio and video streams from Milestone to other VMS, monitoring centers, analytics engines, and social media platforms. The Streaming Engine was developed to provide an efficient and redundant way of streaming video out of Milestone. Initially, the aim was to create a better offering than the ONVIF Bridge that would guarantee uninterrupted streaming 24/7. The Streaming Engine is currently used in several high-security sites where high availability is imperative. The solution continues to deliver high-quality video and audio at very low CPU usage.Key features
- RTSP and RTSP over SSL (RTSPS) Live and Playback Streaming. Support for Playback with the addition of a UTC timestamp and speed to the RSTP request.
- Live Stream your cameras to YouTube or other streaming services using the RTMP Streaming protocol.
- Rich Timelapse feature for capturing still images over time, by event, or on motion events.
- RESTful API for easy integration with Analytics engines and Monitoring centers. Get the list of available cameras from our API and much more.
- Do you want to show Milestone streams on your own website? Our Streaming Engine can save HLS files on your webserver to enable HTTPS video streams.
How it works

Easy Streaming into VLC:
1. Enable the stream in the Management Client
2. Copy the camera GUID
3. Open VLC, enter the Streaming Engine IP and port and paste the camera ID.
4. Click play!

The Streaming Engine can take image snapshots and save them to a folder automatically. Snapshots can be taken on event, on motion or on a timer. Several options are available to set the filename.

View your saved JPEG snapshots in quick succession to see what the timelapse will look like.

The Streaming Engine Service Manager provides easy access to the Streaming Engine Service configuration, a custom logger to see stream statistics in real time, and a license import/export tool.

The Streaming Engine is a service and it can connect to Milestone using a domain account or a basic user. All streaming ports can be edited and several configuration options are available.

Our real-time log viewer shows the Streaming Engine logs in realtime. Statistics are printed periodically that show the stream health, stability, frames per second, and usage.

Multiple streams can be pulled as RTSP, and it is possible to view multiple live streams of the same camera as well as multiple playback streams with different start and end times simultaineously.
