Select plan for Google Maps or Bing Maps APIs

Bing Maps and Google Maps offer different usage plans for their APIs. When you select a plan it is important to consider how much you will use the map service.

Bing Maps offers Basic Keys and Enterprise Keys, and Google Maps offers Standard and Premium plans. Basic keys for Bing Maps are free, but allow a limited number of transactions before the transactions become billable or access to the map service is denied. Premium and Enterprise keys are not free, but allow unlimited transactions.

If you are going to use Bing Maps or Google Maps in XProtect Smart Client, Milestone recommends the following:

For Bing Maps, purchase an Enterprise Key. You can also use a Basic Key, but remember that they allow limited use.
To use Google Maps, you must purchase a Premium Plan for the Google Static Maps API.
