Challenge: Securing a complex, high-traffic resort environment

Operating a large, high-traffic casino resort presents a unique set of challenges, from strict regulatory compliance and the need for continuous surveillance coverage to managing real-time security incidents and complex investigations across thousands of cameras. Since opening in 2021, the resort team has had to simultaneously monitor gaming activities under strict state and federal requirements while protecting non-gaming areas such as retail, food and beverage, and guest spaces from theft, fraud, and safety risks.

At the same time, RWLV wanted to use video data to gain operational insights. This had to be done while maintaining a highly reliable system because any downtime could have had a serious impact on operations and compliance. Equally important, Resorts World needed a platform that could integrate best-of-breed technologies without adding complexity or compromising reliability.

Solution: A scalable, open platform video technology stack

At the center of RWLV’s video technology ecosystem is Milestone Systems’ XProtect VMS, which serves as the backbone that connects approximately 5,800 cameras and a diverse set of best-of-breed analytics and security technologies. Milestone’s open architecture allows Resorts World to select the technologies that best address each operational need—from gaming surveillance and fraud detection to forensic search and business intelligence—while managing everything through a single, scalable system.

The system integrates a mix of camera technologies, primarily from Axis Communications, Bosch, and Hanwha Vision. Advanced analytics are layered on top of the VMS through BriefCam, which is used for forensic video review, people counting, and heat mapping to support investigations and operational insights. The system also incorporates facial recognition capabilities from Oosto, enabling real-time identification and tracking of individuals of interest, while Aeyesky provides specialized analytics for detecting card counting and cheating behaviors on the gaming floor.

Additionally, AXIS Case Insight supports business intelligence use cases by analyzing foot traffic and customer behavior. Together, these technologies form a comprehensive solution that allows Resorts World to manage security, compliance, investigations, and operational intelligence from a single pane-of-glass.

Results: Open platform delivers security, compliance and business intelligence

The implementation of the integrated video technology solution has delivered significant value across security, compliance, and operations at RWLV. Security teams can respond to incidents in real time, conduct forensic investigations more efficiently, and support law enforcement with speed and confidence. The system also supports strict gaming regulations while enabling Resorts World to use video data to better understand guest movement and inform operational decisions. Together, these capabilities help the resort reduce risk and extract greater value from its security infrastructure.

When Seconds Matter

With thousands of cameras and multiple analytics tools centralized within a single interface, operators can quickly locate, track, and review individuals or events across the property. In one case, the team identified a suspect connected to an external criminal investigation and helped federal authorities make an arrest on property within minutes.
