The Australian Milestone Open Platform Days on July 31-August 2, 2017 brought together industry leaders, manufacturers and experts to discuss and view demonstrations of integrated technologies.

18 Milestone Open Platform Community partners showcased Milestone-integrated solutions, such as the latest IP cameras, server and storage hardware, video analytics, cloud solutions, access control, wireless, body worn cameras and perimeter protection.

Held on the sunny Gold Coast, the event aimed to provide visiting partners and end customers with essential knowledge and tools to help, identify market opportunities and increase value offering in this fast paced and highly competitive industry.

“We believe that MPOP should also be about meeting new people and having some fun, so we planned a full agenda of activities to put a smile on people’s faces and to create an experience to be remembered,” South Pacific Distribution Channel Manager Danielle Joynson says.

The three-day event consisted of keynotes, breakout sessions, networking and tech showcases.

“This event showed the true power of what the open platform and that what we’re selling is different than what anybody else in the industry is currently providing. The open platform is about enabling more business for all partners and the MPOP format is a great way of showing our combined force and newest products, in a warm, engaging and professional manner”, Joynson says.


Making the world see

“Milestone’s purpose is to make the world see the power of video technology and the open platform. At the event, we wanted to recognize the community and give back”, she continues.

“We picked a charity close to our heart, The Fred Hollows Foundation. We chose to support Fred Hollows because they are also committed to making the world see, and to ensure that every person, no matter where they live, or how poor they are, has access to inexpensive and high-quality eye care. Globally 32.4 million people are blind or visually impaired, however 4 out of 5 people don't need to be. Their blindness is either treatable or preventable.”

Raffle tickets were sold out in a heartbeat and the event managed to raise more than AUS 10.000 for the cause.
