Supported Joysticks

In the XProtect Smart Client you have the option to use a joystick. This is very handy if your XProtect system includes movable PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras. From the Smart Client you can turn and zoom the PTZ camera, tracking persons or items passing your cameras.

The requirements for the joystick are not high: any USB joystick with 3-axis that is Windows (DirectX 9) compatible can be used.

You can use a regular gamer joystick. If you prefer something more "serious-looking", here are some suggestions:

NGSystems X3100 CCTV USB Joystick Controller is a joystick where the vendor has optimized the layout for Milestone software. On the joystick you will find buttons corresponding to the buttons on the Smart Client. See the vendor web page.

Axis 295 is very popular among Milestone XProtect users. See the vendor web page.

American Dynamic CC300 is a video control station that enables the user to view and control cameras and video recorders at local and remote facilities. See the vendor web page.

ADCC300

The ADCC300 requires a SmartClient Plug-in which enables using the ADCC300 to perform a subset of Milestone XProtect Smart Client functions. The plug-in can be used on XProtect Smart Client ver. 3 or newer.
