Milestone SDK

Integration options abound with Milestone Systems open platform IP video software.
 
Integrating previously discrete security and business systems into one interactive solution allows for tremendous efficiencies and improved functionality that was not thought possible before.

Milestone offers both ‘off-the-shelf’ integrated solutions with pre-configured products, and the ability to make customized integrations with other systems or devices using the Milestone Software Development Kit or SDK. 



With the Milestone Software Development Kit (SDK) you can integrate video into other software products to view live images, playback recorded activities, ‘go to’ specific times, and search for motion. The Milestone SDK provides you with the tools for integration: APPLICATION PROGRAM INTERFACES (APIs) and Components:

  • Milestone ImageServer API
  • Milestone XProtect Matrix API
  • Milestone XProetct Central API
  • Milestone EngineManager ActiveX Control
  • Milestone ImageViewer ActiveX Control

Access Control

XProtect surveillance integration with access control can be made in various ways:

  • From the GUI in the access control system, video images can be viewed – both live and for specified events.
  • Use events in the access control system to trigger events in the Milestone surveillance system: ‘Go to’ pre-set, start recording, etc.
  • Use a standard solution offering like Net2 version 4 from Paxton Access Ltd.

Video Analysis

Integration is also possible with intelligent video analysis software for object identification, vehicle license recognition, iris or fingerprint ID systems, etc.

Remote Control from 3rd Party Applications

Remote control from third party applications can be handled via ‘go to’ presets, start recording, or open gate options. Remote control of XProtect Matrix from third party applications allows you to build a video wall and remote control it or set up alerting of remote operators by pushing live camera images to appear on their screens.
